Shipping is the reason as to why the product becomes very expensive and uncompetitive.

Example: I want to purchase a product whose net weight is 5g. They are selling at ksh 1.2
Locally the product goes for about ksh 2.8.
But if you look at the weight, it means that 1kg will contain 200 pieces.
Salihiya charges 1,210 per kg.
1210/200 it’s about 6 Bob a piece!

if importing by Air, make sure its a high value - high margin item, and that is not too heavy.
for what you are selling, it would be better to bring By Sea in bulk. Takes longer but its way cheaper .
