Importing cars

Is there a way of knowing the amount of tax you will pay for a car before buying it.
Say for example Ni Honda fit Na CIF Ni Kama $3000. Can you get the expected amount of tax from kra ama they can only give you that info once you have bought it? Sandeni

Ingia new site ya KRA ikona new features, ata duty costs za gari

How accurate is this. Nishawahi tumia Na I felt Kama the estimates were exceeding what I anticipated by a large margin

Whatever you estimate as taxes in kenya, always have like 50k over and above that number.

or alternativly fanya vile @D… Mungai amekuambia hapo juu

Hii iko sawa at least. Although Ni Kama hakuna option ya kuweka CIF. Sijui imedetermine CIF imweka hapo Aje. But I’m getting an estimate of likely amount of tax

kenya ongezea atleast 150k ju ya import cost, sa zingine corruption na hizo other bs, just to be sure… inaeza fika ikwame port ju ya hidden fees

Not all is doom and gloom. Mine was lower by 11K the estimate from the calculator

the safest way is to have an amount equal to the CIF plus 70K on top!

walifanya revamp lini

So nimefika hiyo KRA site and checked price of importing Allion Premio. As you can see the current retailing price is 3.25 but if you add all costs of importing the vehicle and taxes it amounts to around 1.6 Million. Add another 100k for logistics, some little pimping and your total costs will be around 1.7M. Clearly there’s some good difference between the retailing price and your total cost of importation. Wazito am I missing something as I feel this is too good to be true?

That is the retailing price of a Brand New car.
