After Jagathi is impeached, Ruto must not stop there. They say that when you strike your enemies, you must strike them hard and ensrue they never rise again. An impeached Jagathi will be very popular with Okuyus and can pose some threat in 2027. What Ruto needs to do is to have corruption/treason charges preffered against Jagathi and ensure he is kept busy fighting court cases.
Ruto should not make the same mistake that Moi did. When Moi began whipping Matiba and Kibaki, he did not properly strike them and they later posed big challenge. For instance, he should have properly struck matiba when he was in detention. The special branch would simply have made it look like suicide. The same with Kibaki. Atfter firing him as VP, he would have ordered the courts to prefer corruption charges against kibaki. Or simply detain him like he had done with matiba. By 1992, kibaki would have been a nobody. If MOi had dealt with Kibaki properly, the latter would not have messed up mois succession game in 2002.
Once Jagathi is impeached, Ruto should ensure he never rises again. Jagathi has serious corruption cases and Ruto should revive them. He should also ensure no Okuyu leader gains sufficient clout so as to ensure no credible opposition in 2027.
