Why don’t they drill, refine and first consume their oil first before exporting?

It is embarrassing when you produce oil alafu unakosa.

Same with Turkana oil. Why dont we drill, refine and first consume instead of exporting cheap crude and importing expensive refined oil?

The turkana oil would be more expensive than imported oil. Just like imported maize and sugar are cheaper than locally produced.
