Igoji why?!

My people, I’ve come across disturbing news from Meru that should concern every parent.

A 14yr old girl & student, Betty Karendi from Igoji, was reportedly s*…*y assaulted by several men and murdered after she left home going for KESHA. This comes just weeks after a similar case in the same area. So far, no arrests.

What angers me most is seeing some people defend such acts and even call them “culture.”

Let me speak plainly: there is no culture, no excuse, no explanation that justifies harming a child or any woman.

If anyone calls this “culture,” then that culture is broken and must end.

This is not an attack on Meru or its people.
This is a call for Meru and all of us to stand up and protect our daughters.

Ask yourself one question: what if it were your child?

Justice for Betty Karendi must be demanded, loudly and without fear. Evil survives where good people stay silent.

To parents:

Let us raise boys who respect life, who protect women & children, who know right from wrong.

And let us be alert, be it present or future parents, know where our children are, who they are with, and who influences them.

Being protective today is not a weakness.
It is a responsibility.
It is love.
Justice for Betty Karendi.

Apo unasema ni culture, it implies that sometimes it happens. What culture is that, genuinely curious. The first step to getting rid of harmful cultural practices is to explain them in detail.

Most people will say it’s bad culture, them refuse to explain the reasoning for the practice.
