The next 24 months might be messy. A lot of people will suffer, especially peasants.
Rents and food prices might double or triple.
Tayarisheni lube.

Hapo kwa rent,I beg to differ, some landlords are still suffering from.the covid effect…some had to lower their rent to achieve a 70-80% occupancy rate.
Increasing the rent will see the tenant move elsewhere, empy house supply is high while demand is low.
Pia kuna those greedy landlord who compromised spaces like building small bedrooms and so on,hao wamekipata, tenants wanawaonyesha kidole cha kati…usitake kujua a house that used to go for 25k pale Ruaka saa hii inalipishwa ngapi…13k and it is not yet fully occupied.
Before any landlord aseme ng’weee atakuwa amefikiria
Hapo nayo nakubaliana na wewe
True Landlords wanaumia.
Where I stay there has been empty houses for close to year now.
Despite reducing the rent to attract the new tenants.
Hizo prophesy zako za doom toa hapa tulipambana na covid era na bado hatujarecover but are still pushing it

kazi gani inalipa na dollar?

Bidenflation
I called it a few months ago.
Kama umeweka savings na KES, it’s time to switch to a USD account. At least the rate of dollar to kshs. is adjusting to the inflation. Before Covid 1 usd ilikuwa kes 104, saa hizi iko kes 120.
But I don’t think rent will double or triple in the next 2 years.
I actually think the real estate market in Kenya will collapse and a lot of landlords will be forced to reduce rent.
But everything else will go up (it has already happened).

USD account cant save you. CBK governor anaweza amka siku moja and convert all those accounts into Ksh accounts. It has happened before in other countries. Na ujue kuna dollar shortage Kenya saa hii.
This is fear-mongering.
CBK can’t do that without completely collapsing the Kenyan economy. If that happens, it will be like Kenya is cutting ties with the U.S.
Dollar shortage means there is more demand for the dollar. In fact, the CBK governor may do the opposite and release more dollars into the economy to counter the dollar shortage.
Mwambie bana
You can keep BUSD or USDC or USDT in a nice hardware wallet. Whenever you want to withdraw unauza pale binance.
Is that why they capped dollar withdrawalsa few weeks ago?? Please learn how the government and specifically how CBK works before arguing with me.
You really don’t know how the economy works, do you? Your ignorance is showing.
CBK capped dollar withdrawal because there is a dollar shortage, and to protect its reserves.
In effect, most companies started stocking up dollars just in case things goes south and the Kenyan shillings takes a big hit.
Are the local companies stocking up dollars instead of KES stupid? So hao hawajui maneno ya economy?
In fact, after CBK capped dollar withdrawal, companies started to exchange the dollar way above the market rate using a parallel exchange rate not regulated by CBK.
Instead of the usual rate of kes 116, manufacturers are exchanging dollar at kes 120.
Saa zingine afadhali tu kunyamaza kuliko kuongea vitu haujui.
What you just typed is laughable because its true but it does not support your argument at all. So, you are using factual news that does not support your claim. Central governments in other countries have exchanged USD accounts to local currency when national reserves declined significantly. Kenya is no different and if its dollar reserves fall sharply, all those USD accounts will be converted to Ksh.
Don’t just type already known news for the sake of appearing smart even when it does not support your argument in any way.
Also, companies are stocking up dollars (OUTSIDE KENYA!!!). Banks and the government have already started imposing maximum daily withdrawals. Do you think companies would be retarded to stock up dollars in Kenya and experience those limitations??
Regurgitating news does not make your argument valid and in this case it is totally unrelated to your claim.
