An 80-year-old man has shocked villagers in Kathiani, Machakos County, after returning home 55 years after he left.
Musyoka Kitavi Ndunda is the brother of Mwaya Kitavi who unsuccessfully ran for MP.
According to family members, Musyoka Kitavi left home in the late 1960s and nobody had seen him since then.
Musyoka said he left home for Nairobi to work as a security guard.
As he got older, he left the rigorous job and would be seen on the streets of Majengo in Nairobi begging.
A well wisher called Christine Ndanu, a presenter at Musyi FM, who went ahead to connect the man to his family.
Celebrations have been organised.
