Cattle herders such as Samburu Pokot Turkana and Maasai will breathe freely because they don’t need non of these government services. They have resisted being included into the tax paying bracket since we gained independence. The government has been trying to colonise them by insisting their children go to school but somehow their culture has held strong.

The government wants to make the Huduma Number mandatory and tie it to all basic government services across the board

There’s a public hearing on it at the Kenya School of Government, Kabete on the 25th of July.
