Huawei self-developed Operating system “Hongmeng OS” Might Supports full-Platform Android Apps Better than Android

Recently, Huawei registered the “Hongmeng” trademark in the State Intellectual Property Office of China. The name “Hongmeng” means “the beginning of the world”, or very suitable as the name of Huawei’s first self-developed OS.

It is reported that Huawei Hongmeng OS is not a simple Android branch, which is different from the current EMUI. It is an independent OS built on Linux open source system. Furthermore, it is optimized for 5G Internet and covers the whole platform.

How can Huawei Hongmeng OS Survive?
However, the key to an operating system is the ecosystem. The reasons for the failure of Windows Phone, webOS (Palm), Firefox OS, and BlackBerry OS are the abandonment by software vendors. The number and quality of applications cannot compete with Android and iOS. So, can Hongmeng OS break this jinx?
Hongmeng OS Android Apps will be Compatible with Android and Web apps faster than Android

Huawei executive, MrYu Chengdong said that Hongmeng OS will be compatible with Android and web applications. In fact, this operation is not difficult. After all, Android is also built on Linux.
Among them, Huawei’s previously released “Ark Compiler” is the key, it can recompile Android applications written in Java language, and run on the Hongmeng OS at 60% speed. Because the Ark compiler is completely open source, software vendors can optimize and customize according to their own conditions. In other words, the cost of porting Android applications will be low.
To be sure, in order to ensure the user experience, Hongmeng OS will use EMUI, Huawei’s self-developed software store “App Gallery” will also go online, replacing Google Play in overseas markets.
It is expected that Hongmeng OS will receive the support of most domestic software vendors, and there is not much problem in ecological health in China. The trouble is the overseas market, but it is not desperate. Internet giants competing with Google may recompile Android applications for Huawei devices. Major Apps that will be recompiled includes Facebook, WhatsApp, Amazon, Netflix, Uber, Spotify, etc. for competitive purposes.

@Deorro priss breakdown this tech piece into a simple language

Once these Chinese guys make a decent OS and their own chips and semiconductors, expect a lot of these western companies to close shop. Companies like Intel, Qualcomm will only be restricted to American Market because they won’t be able to compete competitively.

I hope this works… screw america.

Naombea Huawei mazuri. Fuck Trump and his ideologies

All because Mr. ‘Art Of The Deal’ is jealous of Huawei’s incredible growth. I hope that the OS gets traction, even if only in China at first.

would be a very tall order, Google is part of life for most people, everything is wired around gmail, Google maps etc , getting rid of those is key.Unless Huawei comes up with crazy offers for African market and arm twist governments to ensure every government official has phones with those os,hawawezi make, if Samsung failed with their OS, pia hao will follow suit. But Africans should stop being lazy and built their own tech, Windows has technically got African by the balls, if we go Chinese way, The US will simply pull the plug and bring governments to a halt ,either way we’re f***d.

Huawei beating the likes of Qualcomm, Microsoft, Intel and Google is a pipe dream. This companies have invested heavy on R&D and Huawei cannot match them. Huawei won’t come up with a faster processor anytime soon coz it takes time and resources to develop them. That’s why Intel remains the unchallenged giant in building processors. Similarly, writing code is one thing but making it work as expected and giving it full support is what other such as Samsung’s Tizen and Microsoft’s Windows Mobile lacked to challenge Android.
