Good to see them back but unfortunately, at a quoted price of 75-80k, the specs are too mediocre.

These legacy/ niche brands should also be avoided if they ain’t got local support for parts and servicing. A good example is Motorola who do have great recent mid range phones but you’ll struggle for basic things like screen protector, case or a local authorized service center. Google Pixel also don’t have local support. You’ll have to DIY the parts importation and ole wako if the phone needs serious repair.

Mbona mtu atafte support center when he can get a fundi who’s good at what he does. If you havent noticed, support centers charge exorbitantly and like to force consumers to buy unnecessary stuff.

Too expensive, it’s like a trend. Nokia did the same shit with their x30 with Snapdragon 695 chip same price as the HTC

Sijui kama I’m too careful or lucky, sijawahi peleka simu kwa fundi. No case , screen protector and my devices looks good as new

I disagree:

  1. If the issue that has taken you to the service centre is battery replacement, it will simply be that. They won’t push you to do/ replace unnecessary stuff. Also, in a service centre, you’re likely to have a lot of stuff under warranty, considering most people keep phones for 2-4 years max. For instance, Samsung have an Africa warranty of 2 years.

  2. Service centre people are actually trained on the servicing of each and every model that they cater to. Carl Care for instance will know repairs for each and every model of Tecno, Infinix and Itel. You leave your phone for about 3 days and you are rest assured that they know what they are doing and they will fix your phone. It’s like taking your overcomplicated BMW to Oti mjuaji who thinks that just because he has fixed numerous Japanese models ati atawezana na hio. He ends up creating additional problems, doesn’t really fix the original issue na ukipatana na wrong number, anakuibia original parts huko ndani na kukuwekea bonoko spares.

Personally I would never buy a phone worth over 30k. In my 20’s I easily did. Simu ya 6 by 128 memory with decent 50px camera and am good to go. After 12 to 15 months I gift my young cazos or pal and replace
