Kenya is the only African countries most Americans know. They have to include it in their facts otherwise no one would know what they are talking about.
The “litte guy on Main Street” does know at the best that Kenya is a country in Africa - but where is Africa??? This is their next question.

More americans know south africa and nigeria. They actually think that they are the only countries and are adjacent to each other. this can even be seen in movies such as “Elysium”.
