What about those who pack items? Those are the people huwa nahurumia sana and I must always tip them.
Wote ni cashiers, they change roles different times and days. Sometimes you find them in the aisles. Once employed there you are expected to do multiple duties for you to earn that amount.

tabia mbaya hii yaani unaandika mtu kazi unamlipa mshahara poa alafu na yeye anakuibia watu wengine ni short sighted sana. sasa supermarket ikifungwa si the same cashier ataanza kulia njaa in the next 1 month juu ya kukosa kazi na pesa.
Hizo figures are inflated
It is human nature and 90% of people wako ivo. Ndio maana ukiwa na supermarket ama club lazima ulipe workers as little as possible juu either way lazima wakuibie. Cashier wa supermarket kumlipa a cent more than 15k ni recipe for disaster. That same person hata ukimlipa 50k bado atakuibia tuu so why pay them more?? Greed has no limits.
My cousin was a storekeeper at some hotel and she used to earn 15k lakini “deals” zinaleta kama an extra 30k. Hiyo hotel wangemlipa hata 30k she would still have done those side deals like every other human being. So I totally understand why minimum wage earners earn peanuts, because they steal regardless.
