HOW SAFE IS KISUMU?

Wadau there’s this friend of mine who applied for a certain job earlier last month, luckily he was shortlisted together with a few others. The dilemma comes about that they have been posted to Kisumu as their workstation as from this coming Thursday. As his close friend am worried about his safety considering he’s from our uthamaki kingdom. Tried chatting on the issue earlier today and guess what, his family advised him to drop the newly acquired job since it won’t be safe for him in Kisumu during the ongoing campaigns…How safe is Kisumu currently??

If you have to dilly dally, simply don’t go. I’m sure the employer will not waste time replacing you.

Not safe. He should not quit however, tell him to approach his employer and tell him he does not feel safe there around elections and that he should be allowed to go home or to safer places during the elections. Infact he should demand it.! Employer akikataa basi awachane ne hio kazi!

Election day will be a public holiday and some unknown days or weeks after… He or she can travel comfortably on said day.

Skipping this is wisdom. Remember the destruction during IEBC riots? Kisumu/kondele will burn. If he requests the boss to stay out during this time when jakuon is sent on permanent leave, i’m sure the boss will understand

I know I have one life. I (normally) wouldn’t gamble with it.

Mwambie achukue job. Employer should be on the forefront to ensure his safety. Kama ni anaogopa aombe off siku ya election, even Nrb is not safe.

Don’t take the job heri kuwa maskini kuliko kukimbizwa na kîng’eshe or worse
