Why are HP computers so bad?
Because they’re pure garbage. The design is garbage, the specs are garbage, the parts are garbage, the service is garbage, and the reliability is garbage.
Design - HP uses weird polygon designs that make the whole stability of their products near non-existent. This ridiculous design broke the hinge on my laptop which was also, believe it or not, also badly designed. It all looks over functionality and every part of their product(s). It’s all prone to breaking at one point or another, and it all feels and truly is cheap.
Specs -
One of the most god-awful laptops I ever owned was an HP, and it was supposed to be good on paper and would’ve been if it had been ANY OTHER BRAND. You should expect slow ram, defective hard drives, and screens that are too bright/dim and have too much/little color and are usually very poor res screens.
Parts - As I said about the design, everything is prone to break, but also from the poor quality and cheap design of the parts. As I mentioned before, the weird design caused my laptop hinge(my laptop was around $1300 keep in mind) to decide one day that it was going to collapse on itself and bend. The hinge couldn’t even hold itself up and the whole thing, made up of cheap thin material, snapped in half. Then I dismantle the whole thing, and I look to see why it broke and would you look at that! The weird design caused the screws and the supports holding the hinge to break the plastic parts holding them up. Expect loud fans, broken keys and defective screens and parts(at least I hope they’re defective)
Service - Prior to that whole debacle with the screen, I had an issue with my hard drive. The whole computer, which is stationary btw and almost never moves, randomly decided to fail and the hard drive wouldn’t work at all. I look the issue up and find out its widespread. I contact HP support and they route me through chats 8 different times with them hanging up randomly many times. Eventually, when I got to a somewhat communicable support agent, they tell me that they cannot help me because my warranty ended. You spend $1300 on a laptop and you’re not even deemed worthy of talking to an agent because your warranty ended, hallelujah! They told me that I cannot talk to a support agent and must go look in the community forums for help. How trash of a company do you have to be to essentially tell customers that they’re not valued after that 1-year mark? I mean, what if I wanted to get an extended warranty lol? What if I wanted to ask the support agent where I can pay HP to fix my laptop? They’re literally turning away business opportunities to try and be as cheap as possible.
Reliability - Like I made clear, you should expect the whole product to fail at one point or another. It is NOT a reliable product. Anything from HP is anything but. Even when it does “work”, you’ll be forced to deal with crashes, slow ram and tons of bloatware.
I eventually gave up. I threw that garbage laptop away and after years of using HP products, none of which worked seamlessly or properly. I can give you dozens of examples but this one stuck out to me most because the laptop is more than a grand. A $1300 laptop shouldn’t collapse on itself. A $1300 laptop shouldn’t even have a hard drive. A $1300 laptop should be met with service that represents that price tag, I didn’t get that.
In conclusion, never buy HP products. I’m dead serious. The reason they’re so bad is that they constantly sacrifice reliability and functionality for lower costs. The low prices are a fraud. Don’t spend $500 on an HP laptop with the specs of a $800 non-HP one. It may seem like a good deal, but I promise you that you’ll end up spending more in repairs and very likely having the thing fail when you need it most. I threw my laptop in the trash, literally. It’s where it belongs. I got the new Dell XPS 13 and my god it’s amazing. It’s SUCH A STEP UP over that trash can of a laptop I owned last. Go get yourself anything but an HP, it’ll be worth it.
Kwa laptop HP ni same na TOYOTA kwa gari , Infinix kwa simu
HP laptops used to be very durable, na huko early to late 2000s. After a short while I started seeing laptops whose displays would depress at the sligtest poke of a finger. Yaani it was as thin as a foolscap.
They decided to compromise on quality to save some cash. They are not the only ones. Siku hizi kupata kitu long lasting ni ngumu sana. Na Sana sana hii tabia utaipata na kampuni za huko yuess.

I used my G4 250 from 2016 to date and it’s still going on despite hardware worn out
I tried Lenovo, Samsung, Hp, Toshiba and then Dell. I rate Dell very high above those other brands. Nothing comes close.
Samsung or Lenovo
Dell anytime
My G4 840 decided one day that it had had enough. The motherboard went kaput after barely one year.
