A Dubai hospital has refused to discharge a Kenyan baby after the parents could not afford €75,000 (Sh8,319,059.92) medical bill.
Kiama Kamau was born on February 11 prematurely at the Sharjah hospital.
His mum Ruth Wambui Mwaura said she had been on holiday in the United Arabs Emirate when she went into labour.
She said she cannot afford the money, adding that her husband earns as little as Sh45,473 (€410).
“I am currently out of work and my husband is a petrol pump filler ,” Mwaura said.
That gives it all, from my work experience, read kuweka gari za job mafuta, and my cousin lady being a manager of a shell petrol station somewhere. hao watu unaona kwa fuel station nawakuanga na kakitu sana. Where as a office we take fuel by LPO monthly ao fuel attendants kaa wote wakona bungalow na wengine rentals.
My cousin was working in National bank then wakafutwa 2015 Nov, atapata job apo shell in 8 months akona plot yake, fenced, she looking for another plot.
Scenario 1. Tumeenda me and the driver kuweka ngata with LPO not cash… Very important. (big organisation agree with petrol stations uweke mafuta then utalipa end month). Sai bei ya diesel is around 93 bob, landcruiser has 2 tanks both 90 litres that is 180 litres kitu kaa 16k full tank… Gari ikona mafuta say 40 litres so gauge iko below half, kwa LPO u say umeweka full tank the top up the fuel attendant will give as cash juu yeye atabaki a-balance the fuel consumed in cash na by LPO. So top nikaa 3600 you give Fuel attendant 600 us we go with 3k. That is one car. Us we have 6 cruisers.
Scenario 2. Let say by end month umeconsume 100k ya fuel na average ya ofisi is 200k or more, you just call the manager unashow aweke invoice to 215k, you take like 6 LPO mnafanya ukarabati then sasa hapo ndio you share like men, manager unampa 15k yee anakupa 200k. This uwa unafanya when you are about to pay your monthly bill ndio station isiwe na deni kubwa.
Dont ask about mileage, nobody is NGO or County Government checks the mileage, sema UN.
Nikuiibie siri, where my cousin works county wako na deni ya 3.6M around 1.8M ndio true fuel, the rest watagawana, she will get kitu kaa 400k apo, problem ni fuel ya 2016 adi wa leo county wajalipa.
An interesting twist to the story…I thought the husband works in Dubai and so he had invited the wife kujionea mji.
I remember kuna boy wangu alikua anafanya kazi kwa petrol station kitambo. He used to tell us how they steal oil. Akifungua bonnet kuangalia oil anaambia driver oil iko chini. Driver anamwambia aongeze oil. He goes picks a new can of oil kwa hizo shop zao and pretends to put oil but he does not. He throughs the can with oil kwa dust bin and later picks it up and take it back to the shop.
Boss first this is not someone’s company money, The Petrol station does not lose any money or fuel. Tuagree apo.
Second, in someone’s company you can not do this coz there are too many controls juu ni profit oriented.
Third, in the world of donor funding its the opposite no profits to report so anything goes.
Fourth, your asking if am proud? I will tell you something that not many people know, please listen carefully.
In donor funded projects you are given money to HELP people mostly disadvantaged in life.
You know how much expatriates are paid in NGOs, kwetu the least paid is 3000 Euro a month to which, there is a car to ferry them anywhere, hawapandi matatu. The office has constructed around 6 bungalows for them to live in(no rent for them) fully furnished by the office, the electricity bill and water every month in that compound we pay as a office (20k) a month, we pay watchmen (day and night), kuna dogi kwa compound we even buy DOGs food (enda Nakumatt ask for TOP DOG ( costs 2200) around 3 bags a month.
A 2 return ticket per year for them to go home
These are the exclusive things they have which us (4 local staff) hatuna. Mzungu can take the car go to the park, coast bila noma juu they go with the cars at home.
Not that the expatriates know to work better than us noo this are things they enjoy chini ya maji while still helping the needy in the society.
Come now to the entitlement za offisi zile all of us enjoy, Airtime, DSA, etc.
Huyu jamaa anaget salo 300k yet hana gharama, yake nikukula tu or who’s helping who?
Mimi ata salo yangu i cant say it, yet all my expenses are chilaxing waiting for that small salary
Mimi nikae hapa niwasidikishe waenjoy pesa ya donor??
I have also helped myself, kuna project inaend on July was for 3 years imenisaidia sana sana. Now the reality has hit me kama singekua nimejisaidia?
But one thing for sure, pesa ya job (what needs to be done hio uwa hatukuli) 100% honest. but kuna many ways ya kubakisha kitu.
Wait!
Wait!
Wait a fucking minute! So guys have assumed he is a thief and are actually emotional over something they do not know whether it really is true?
You are hating someone you have never seen or met? Because you read over the internet?
