How an Industrialist lost bid for exclusive control of State forests.

A regulatory report has revealed Industrialist Jaswant Singh Rai’s attempted to gain control of government forests last year.

According to a report in the local paper;

“The terms of licence proposed by the acquirer were likely to lead to substantial lessening or prevention of competition including foreclosing the upstream market for logging to other saw millers in the six counties,” says the CAK in the report.

What role do the saw millers play in reforestation, they simply cannot be allowed to cut trees and walk away, only to closedown the mills / factories when the forest’s are are exhausted.

Kenneth Matiba was right about them Indian industrialists.

what did he say?

He said Indians must go because they were funding Moi’s kleptocracy and therefore frustrating Kenya’s quest for multiparty politics. Very many Indians fled Kenya in the lead to 1992 elections because Kenya was changing and their above-the-law protected status was getting challenged

ahh, I see.
