Anyone here ever painted their own place with oil based paint. I am looking for tips and tricks to avoid waste and maximize the paint.

For safety and health reasons, water-based paints are always recommended for liveable home/office environments and that’s the trend everywhere. The benefits you get from using oil-based are far outweighed by the alternative.
Rollers, brushes, masking tape, newspapers.
As a novice paint is surely going to drip so cover the floor then tape of sockets and other installations, in tight spaces use a brush not the roller. Only pick up the newspapers after the painting is done and dry
