There is this interesting discussion of why 7pm kwa kiswahili its saa moja, 8pm saa mbili. . I got this reply that i found shocking “24hr clock system. On half runs to midday n the other from midday to midnight. Saa moja ni seven am because 1 am ni usiku after a new day starts based on the earths rotation” Its more confusing than the original text.

Supposing its a 24hr clock, 14.00 is 1400hrs, 15.00 is 1500hrs, theres nowhere that contradicts itself. Even if its the first hours of daylight its still consistent as 7 o’clock. Nasi mbona ikuwe saa moja .

in swahili a day starts when the sun rises and ends when it sets and night begins. the other system a day starts after midnight
