Back in them days when we were in first year, a hood pal (Solo) who was in another university came for the long holidays, coincidentally I was also not in session, I informed him of AfCO where beer was retailing at 30 Bob, we three Solo a friend who had joined the workforce and rented a bedsitter known as Lehman, and I ventured to KBC for drinks that weekend.
We arrived at KBC at 2 and proceeded to order our favorite poison, whilst playing pool, or rather they played pool with some kdf guys while I watched and drank. After a few game and beers they kdf guys gave up and bought two beers each for us, after a few minutes some three Chic’s entered the place and ordered some beers.
Solo approached them and started chatting with them, he later came to our table and declared that the Chic’s had complimented his good looks ( He later won Mr KU University a year later) and had told him he is hotter than the rest of us. Lehman and I kept our cool, When he went to pee, Lehman started complaining that the guy is feeling too sweet for his own good. I told him not to worry I had a plan.
When Solo came back, I requested him to ask his Chic’s to join our table which they did, 3 beers later Solo and the girls had regaled us with their life history, grades and colleges they had attended, one of the girl was in the same campus as I, the other two had just joined Kenya poly that September. Fast forward, Swale puked like a sick dog and the gsu sentry at the gate requested that we vacate the place before things got bad. We heeded his advice quickly.
All imbibers know that after pucking the legs sometimes refuses to heed the head’s command. We had to carry Solo with the girls in tow, until to Luthuli avenue a place where chips used to cost 20 Bob and a quarter chicken was 60(the place was demolished to pave way for the stalls menace that was the in thing).
We bought 6 take away, our working class colleague footing the bill. We headed to his bedsitter in Umoh, We slumped Solo in the couch where he was in a blackout, we devoured the takeaways and Lehman went to purchase a box of merricane and a cold 1 litre Coke. The 3 changer blasted music like full hundred and we danced while gropping the girls, at the end of it all we used about 12 or more silver GOK condoms while hot boy was in a drunk stupor. One of the girl had to go home since she had lied to her parent that she had gone to a kesha at odeon. We had the girl to ourselves till Sunday while hot boy went drying, The girls decided that better the snakes in the pant they knew, than hot boys. And that’s how the cookies crumbled.
