The Karatina Total- Slaughter- Ragati- Unjiru- Ihwagi- Gikumbo-Gaikuyu- Gitunduti- Kabiruini Road has been a big challenge to motorists and pedestrians especially during rainy seasons.
The road was set to have 18 kms upgraded to bitumen standard but there was delay as I demanded that certain important sections that had been left out be included.
The important parts that had been left out are;
a). Karura- Ihwagi
b). Karura- Unjiru
c). Kwa Njiiri- Itiati- Muberethi
d). Kihuri- Kabiruini
After serious negotiations and intense lobbying we have agreed with KeRRA that the above areas be included in the road plan which will increase the coverage from the original 18 kms to 30 kms.
I am working round the clock to make sure this road is advertised within this week to roll out procurement.
It is my hope that the procurement process will be concluded within 45 days and before the closure of this financial year so that the contractor can move on site and consequently construction works to commence.
It has been a long struggle, persistent persuasion and lobbying but I thank God that finally this road will be done to cover 4 Wards; Karatina, Magutu, Iriaini and Ruguru.
It will open up the areas and spur agricultural productivity through market access while expanding the economic scope of the areas within the road network. #miarioinyihe #wirauingihe #developMathira

What is your mheshimiwa doing? If he/she lobbying for projects or singing the same song that’s its national government and county to figure it out. Push for the people’s behalf.
I have a lot of respect for Rigathi, shrewd and astitute. The way he looked after his bro the late Governor while he was ailing, flying all over the world and looking after his fam after he died.
The next Nyeri governor unopposed…I hail from Mathira and if those roads are done then 2022 is a done deal…but one of the contractors constructing the the road from Ragati factory to Gitunduti is a big joke…seems he doesn’t know what he is doing
