Congrats. Donāt worry everything will fall into its rightful place eventually. Its been 4 yrs since I moved to my place and I have never regretted though its a bit far from the main road.
Get to know your neighbours, however further apart you are coz you might need their help one day or they might need yours. Go to the community church of choice coz that is likely to be the first contact area.
A number for a cop from your local police post is a good idea too.
Also try to keep a dog or two. They are excellent in alerting you in case there is an intruder.

My story - I moved into mine when my kids were very young. I had the same fear of them being lonely. But as @gashwin has said hapo juu, I was shocked, after a week into stay, I found my house full of kids having come to visit mine. They have grown together and good buddies even now in their teenage.

Congrats, hakuna shida kubwa hapo, been a year since we moved , got my second born two weeks later they are each others playmates, it wasnāt even a week yet when kids from the neighbours were flocking my house , kids have affinity to each other at a mkakosana as neighbours watoi hawananga hizo.
