Does the huge differences in price close to half a million kenya shillings justify why people like the hiace box in Kenya?
Outside Kenya, hio nissan urvan is very popular in some markets sometimes even outdoing the Toyota Hiace box. I was seeing places kama the Philippines, Thailand, Sri lanka and Malysia the Nissan Urvan was neck to neck in terms of sales.
Hell, it was even outperforms the Hiace in terms of sales figures in some quarterly figures.
Airport shuttle companies love that Nissan box unaenda airport unapata fleets of them huko South East Asia.
Swali ni nje, is the Kenyan market obsession with the hiace box driving the prices unnaturally because of the Toyota cult mentality, ama you could simply say the Toyota hiace box justifiably costs as it should because of quality, reliability and resale value?
Owners and people who have interacted with the Nissan Urvan NV350, your insights would be appreciated.
Toyota vehicles have always proved to be more suited to our poorly maintained roads. They take the beating more gracefully than the other more delicate makes. If all our roads were like those in Korea, Japan, Germany etc, we would never notice this difference. Lakini SAA hii nunua Mercedes alafu uingize hizi barabara zetu za corrugation hapa Laikipia. Ama Nairobi huko Mwiki na Githurai. Utalilia Choo. With a Toyota (Hiace, Hilux, Corolla, Harrier, Landcruiser) you can penya any place without worrying a lot.
The players in the industry must have compared the two brands over the course of time and in their own wisdom and experience decided that the Hiace was tougher. I don’t think they were just led by mere emotions. No no no. Walikaa na hizi dinga mbili na wakaona Toyota is better in all aspects.
its very simple the so called nissan caravan, homy, urvan are not in production, matatu businessmen have to continue business. thats where this so called 7l and 9l come in, fuel efficient and very fast. spares readily available since they share the same engine na the likes of prado na hizo pickup za dyna plus a few other vehicles. hio nissan iko na engine the same na nissan navara pickup ebu hesabu utaona ngapi kwa garage
Mombasa - Malindi route hufanywa na Nissan, hakuna Hiace huko. Tudor-Docks/Ferry hufanywa na Nissans.
Nissans za Ministry ya Health pia zimedumu, miaka mingi.
The HiAce didn’t exist. Gari kushinda na mechanic, beats the point of ownership or any business hope. Toyota embraced Kaizen better than Nissan did. Of late however, this CVT chieth flooding the market just ain’t sustainable here.
This in the picture is the japanese nissan.
current nissans are french (renault) nissans. those car company partnerships tend to make car quality poor and they all eventually fail. It was the same case with daimler AG and Chrysler when they produced those round eyed Mercedes through early 2000s to 2007 that gave mercedes a reputation of poor quality. Daimler have come back with better products since dumping Chrysler. it was the same case with the ford mazda for 10 yeas between 1997 and 2007, which made people run away from the brand. immediately the brands split and mazda went to japan you see their cars back on the road again meaning they are gaining good reputation. the landrover brand was killed by same mixing up of things. the landrover defender disappeared from the road faster than the landrover series i, II, and III. once they started producing range rovers with chinese engines and defenders with BMW engines they could only go downhill. the brand tanked and allowed itself to be owned by something like the tata group so nobody cares about it any more. The same will happen to nissan-renault partnership.
