Here are the two charges that IG MUTYAMBAI’s son will face for killing two Boda Boda riders while drunk

Sunday, December 5, 2021 – Nairobi County Traffic boss Joshua Omukata has said Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai’s son will be charged on Monday after he killed two Boda Boda riders while drunk driving along the busy Southern Bypass on Thursday.

On Friday evening, David Mwendwa presented himself at Lang’ata Police Station, where he was released on a Sh 20,000 cash bail.

Omukata said Mwenda is likely to be charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving and also causing serious injuries to a pedestrian following the accident.

Surprisingly, the Traffic boss didn’t mention that Mwendwa was drunk like a skunk when he caused the accident.

Instead, Omukata said investigations will be conducted without putting into consideration the suspect’s relatives.

“Even if he is the son of the IG, the thing ahead of us is an accident. We are not investigating the son of the IG we are investigating the accident.

“It is not about other personalities,” he said.

The family of a man who was allegedly knocked down and killed by a motor vehicle that was being driven by Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai’s son is now accusing officers involved in dealing with the matter of frustrating them.

Stephen Musyoka was hit by a car that according to police officers was being driven by David Mwendwa who is the son of Mutyambai.

On Sunday, December 5, Musyoka’s family through his brother Emmanuel Mwaniki and his father Joseph Mutemi said that they were not satisfied with the manner in which the matter was being handled.

“The officers are not honest as they do not give a clear explanation of what really transpired leading to the death of our kin,” Mwaniki said.

“We needed information of what transpired but whenever we go to the Lang’ata Police Station, we are told to go bury our kin and then come for information later,” he added.

The family members revealed that the deceased is now survived by his wife and a one-year-old toddler.

Initial reports indicate that Mwendwa was allegedly drunk when he knocked down the motorbike after he veered off the road and landed in a ditch.

Mwendwa could later present himself at the Lang’ata Police Station a day later after the accident had taken place and was released on a Ksh20,000 cash bail.

Addressing the media on the incident, Nairobi Traffic Police Commander Joshua Omukata refuted claims that plans were underway to let the suspect free because of his relation with the police boss.

Omukata said that they will also conduct medical tests in order to establish whether Mwenda was drank during the accident or not before he is arraigned in court on Monday, December 6.

“Being the son of the Inspector General is not a factor we are considering in this matter. The only thing we have at hand is the accident,” Omukata said.

Omukata said that the officers investigating the matter were not in any way considering hi relationship with Mutyambai but they were out to know what exactly happened.

“We are investigating the accident and already we have captured the driver. It’s all about the person who has committed the mistake,” he added.

K24 Digital, has established that the matter was on Friday afternoon reported at Lang’ata Police Station but the details of the driver were captured as unknown.

Efforts by the media to get more details about the accident did not in any way bear fruits as no officer at the station was willing to speak about what had happened.

Cash bail is a right, relatives wafike court huko ndiko Vita iko

By the time he presented himself the alcohol had gotten out of his system so a test wouldn’t have revealed anything

Considering the circumstances, the best option would be for the families of the deceased to settle for an out of court settlement … otherwise munaweza toka sare.

Majamaa wakubali tu compensation and move on, kijana will never be jailed or he will get presidential amnesty

Hapa relatives watapewa pesa kesi ipotee. What is certain though is IG ajitayarishe tena because this ball of fat of a son has an alcohol problem and surely kill another bunch of innocent Kenyans months from now.

Na watu husema Okuyo ni corrupt. All should see that the Omukata guy is not only protecting the IG son but also ass licking in the process.
Next year utasikia the guy has been promoted to some rank juu ya kuficha IG son

The boy will walk. Sad that two people died but, it would have been worse for the driver if there were survivors… As it is for now “huwezi kesi na maiti”

In this Kenya you only get justice in such cases if your family is as influential and loaded as the suspects…you see how our judiciary takes bribes left right and center…even a whole judge is accused of helping a Kikuyu bae kill her mzungu husband so that they can ponda Mali…you expect justice from such morally bankrupt judges

Huyu mzee afikirie Mara mbili about this son of his. Mambo ya woie kababa sasa umefanya nini aweke kando na ashike kijana by the horns. Hata hii kesi akiitatua kimila (iam not sure how the kaos settle murder kimila) he must address the root cause otherwise aseme kwa heri to the son. Huyu ameshamshinda

Hapa waadhiriwa wanafaa watafute mganga agangue bana. But sijui uchawi ya mkamba vs mkamba itaenda aje

wasee wa boda wange lynch huyo kijana mlevi, hakuna kitu atafanywa , evidence itapotea na witnesses watalipwa .
