Swali ni hii - how much money in income per month do you feel can afford you a good, comfortable life in this Nairobi?
Nimeona the previous threads on land/bedsitters etc and it got me thinking how rising costs of living can affect folks negatively in coming days, especially wenye wako in the 30k salo region
Usingojee inflation. More money is always good
my friend, a rich person is not the one who has the most amount of money, a rich person is the one who has enough money to meet his needs,
in essence a guy who earns kes 30,000/= with expenses in the range of 25,000/= is richer then a guy who earns 1,000,000/= with expenses in the range of 1,200,000/=
Nonsense question on a business segment. People are not equal. One will feel 30k is adequate. To another even a million is inadequate. Toa hii ujinga hapa upeleke general category.
Define this first. Tukishakuelewa. Sisi tutakupea cost of living ya kila mahali hii Nairobi.
Na upeleke hii upuzi general. Heheehe.
What caught my eye in the said threads is the argument that there’s no more land available in Nairobi for building. If that argument is correct, we’ll have an ever increasing population chasing after limited apartments/homes, thus pushing their prices and rent prices higher. So what income level do you feel, personally is sufficient to cope with this?
NB: everyone post their opinion, if 30k inakutosha, then thats okay. Kama mwingine anatosheka na 130, thats okay for him/her
I want individual opinions based on what one feels “good/comfortable” is for them…
Na nimeweka hapa kwa Business because the threads I read ziko kwa business section too
Watch NTV now and know the power of 13k net pay
There was a time I really wanted to buy a sewing machine but kept feeling like I didn’t have enough money or the timing wasn’t right etc
I ended up buying one on impulse when I realized that my moms’ housegirl who earns barely a fraction of what I do had already bought 2 machines and had set up a little business back home.
For once your post is readable,no funny niccurs!![]()
Boss, kuwa mpole. You cannot give simple advice bila matusi? ![]()
You should say something like, “Take care of your cents, and your shillings will take care of themselves”.
Summary: Watch your expenses; save then invest. Debt that doesn’t have an assurance of future gains should be avoided. Earn 30k, spend 25k, save 5k. With 30k in 6 months, buy a power saw, start a tree-cutting business in ocha; grow into a timber business etc. Get a loan from Sacco, buy a canter, ferry timber from bomet to nakuru, pay back the loan etc.
One other thing you need to remember, people LIE!
I once heard someone say on TV ati he started his garage with 500 shillings…
hapa punguza wanawake na pombe
Truer words have never been spoken
Derpends on your level of comfort. living in a one bedroom house in eastlands, commuting to work, lifestyle -50k net is enough. living in one bedroom house in eastlands, driving to work, lifestyle 70k net is enough. one bedroom ngong rd, commuting, lifestyle 70k is enough, one bedroom ngong rd, driving, lifestyle 90k is enough… depends on your prefrences.
This is quite an informative piece, wachana na hawa kina dunya wanaongea mbaya hapa
its just an rough estimate, problem comes in when people who have the cash don’t want to spend it at all or want to save more than they should. guys was 30k range can get a bedsitter 9k, commuter 6k, lifestyle ya kujifinya 4k, savings ya 10k.
The only nightmare is people who tell you how bad things will get.
