Kudos on his excellency for the affordable housing program. However, his implementation and strategy leaves us wanting a lot. Ideally, the gov’t should instead offer to subsidize rents on these houses so instead of paying 10k for a 1 bedroom in Githurai, Kenyans can now start paying 2k a month after winning a housing lottery, similar to how New York does it.
