A democracy is forever a learning process. It is not perfect. Far from it. Hata 200 years from now there will be another Trump moment and in Kenya kuna jamaa fulani tu ataenda supreme court 3 times na wengine wataiba live. 
Compare that to a dictatorship that usually falls apart completely and ends up in civil war. Remember USSR? Russia experienced civil war for two years after collapse of socialism. Some satellite states are still in turmoil. Look at UG.
