I have a friend from Kisumu who moved to live in Canada for twenty years and got citizenship. He was excited to travel to many countries with the power of the Canadian passport.
Most of his journeys were okay but he had a fair amount of experiences (at airports) by customs officials who didn’t believe he was Canadian. They basically thought he had a fake passport and almost held him to examine it.
Huyu omera still has a very strong accent 20years later, very impressive. Anyway ’ random’ checks ni lazima especially if you dress like a Nigerian or Congolese…or look like a Somali.
For men from east african, under 50 or so years & travelling without a family expect to be harrassed. They claim the checks are random but they aren’t.
