[SIZE=4]The man who shocked the country after cutting his wife’s breast and then chopping off his genitals for being denied conjugal rights regrets his actions.
Duncan Moseti, 24, said he quarrelled with his wife on Valentine’s Day over being denied sex then attacked her, before chopping off his genitals.
The trader from Kiganjo estate, Thika, contradicted what he said last Saturday; that he committed the act after he found out his wife was cheating on him with his brother.
“I thought my wife was sleeping with another man because she kept denying me my conjugal rights, despite my tireless advances. This got me mad and made me do the crazy thing,” Moseti said.
Speaking to the Star from Thika Level 5 Hospital on Wednesday, he said he wishes his genitals could be treated or replaced so he can be normal again.
Moseti said it dawned on him that he will never be complete without his genitals and may never be able to satisfy his wife’s conjugal needs.
He pleaded for forgiveness from his wife, urging her not to leave him because of his condition. The two have been married for two years.
Moseti said he wants them to raise their daughter together.
“All I’m asking is forgiveness from my wife and my brother. I was not in my right senses when I committed the act. I was confused,” he said.
His wife Margaret Achieng’, 20, said she cannot live with her husband anymore because she fears him.
“I can never live under the same roof with him because he might harm me,” she said.
Achieng’, who has already been discharged, dismissed Moseti’s allegation that she slept with her brother-in-law.
The orphaned mother of one asked her extended family in Alego Kogelo, Siaya county, to come to her rescue and give her money to go back home.
“I have nowhere to go after being discharged from hospital. I appeal to my relatives to take me back home since I have no money and I don’t know people here. I’ve been here for only two weeks,” she said.
Moseti’s brother George Bosire denied sleeping with Achieng’, saying he cannot sleep with his sister-in-law because it is taboo in their culture.
Hospital nurse in charge Catherine Njeri said Moseti went crackers on Wednesday morning after he realised he did not have genitals.
“He came back to his senses and realised his genitals were gone. He ran around the hospital screaming but was held and taken back to his bed,” she said.
He is on psychotropic drugs to calm him, Njeri said.
Moseti is also on surveillance as his family said he has tried to kill himself twice.
