Farming is not for the faint hearted, and i know cause am one. You can gain once only to lose later. It’s a gamble.

I got a goat and sheep herd going on idle family land, broke even in less than a year then @gaza and co rolled in with a truck and stole everything, over 100 animals and their kids. Killed mutina too

Haushuku Ndege ilimaliza?

Zii, so ilikuwa group ya cousins na mwenye ni project manager alikuwa cuzo anakaa hiyo place. He was the only one in kenya that whole 7 or so months. We used to do costing of everything then divide na acre za kila mtu. Nashuku alikuwa anaforge/inflate receipts and things kama spraying etc anasema imefanyika na probably subsection. Also during harvesting nashuku alituiba. Tulikuwa tunataka kumpeleka polisi na tumfinye makende tukaona italeta shida kwa familia na ni hiyo season tu ndo ilikuwa loss so tukamove on.

Farming is like betting. Never invest what you can’t lose and make sure you are there 24/7/365

Izza jo mkubwa. Huko ni Laikipia ama Baringo?

Take the redpill: Small-scale farming is slavery.

Whilst you were being encouraged to be farmers, the clever ones stole your taxes and FX from agricultural exports and built hotels and rentals :green_emoji:

True small-scale farming is in horticultural produce and exotic fruits.

In the farming food chain, I think the best thing is to be a broker coz you go and buy produce from where prices are favorable without taking the risk to tend to crops for months. You could also be a retailer of produce eg mama mbogas, or run meat retail business like @kagege_001_wakameat.

Shamba iko nanyuki, pokots, samburu and sometimes turukana graze there when rains fail kwao. Generally Turkana are very cool, you give them a section of your land to graze and they are cool.
