mambos ,bado nadai kukukamua

scenery ya hiyo video is too bland

It is a song about a guy eating enough Ugali to go around for a whole party, and bloated pigs; what do you expect?

hata ingawa. wange-shootia uhuru au city park na hakuna mtu angewauliza badala ya kuwa na background ya concrete.
in spite of the poor imagery (bloated pigs et al…), the song is a good social commentary.

I like the melody though…

Niko na mukio kubwa…uko commando?

Who is this Ngima nene… I am the only Ngima nene…hao wengine ni impersonator

Shaitan!!!

Is that your photo pinned at the top left side of this video…?

Most Kikuyu songs have a part where the singer gives a shout out to their acquaintances. What are they usually trying to accomplish? This one calls Cecilia Junior. Usually it’s a random sentence and offbeat with the rythmn of the song. Do the musicians get paid to mention those people? I hope they do because they manage to ruin the song.

Not kiuks only, kamba, luo musicians also do it.
And so do the Congolese in their Lingala.

Hakuna malipo hapo

Very casual thing.

Six or so years ago, a group of rather young professionals went to mlolongo and took a table at the “VIP” section of a popular joint.

Unbeknown to them there was a local musician present in the same place who came in later with his girlfriend and was squeezed by the bouncers into their table. Alcohol was flowing and the fellas soon discovered who was sitting with them. By the end of the night, a lot of familiarization had taken place with a heavy dose of story sharing.

Halafu to their surprise, those guys were mentioned in the “salamu section” of that musicians next release mwengine mpaka hata full names and village anatoka. Nilisikia nikacheka karibu kuzirahi.

Heheheeee

I haven’t listened to many kamba and Luo songs but Congo I have. Like in that song Wake up by Koffi featuring Papa Wemba, Koffi gives many shootouts but they’re not off-key. In the Kikuyu songs they’re usually off key. Kuna moja a musician asks someone who I can’t remember the name of if he’s still selling radios. If I find the song I’ll post it here
