I was just doing some online reading when I came across a World Bank article on the GDPs of various countries around the world.
LISTENING TO MOSTLY DIM-EYED ORANGUTANS MOURN AND WHINE, YOU WOULD THINK KENYA IS A BASKET CASE.
In fact, the country is ranked as the world’s 71st largest economy; we have a bigger economy than such European countries as Serbia, Bulgaria, Monaco, and Croatia!
Jordan, whose king was in town the other day, has an economy HALF ours!
Our economy is bigger than those of Djibouti, Burundi, Eritrea, Kyrgystan, Albania, Jamaica, Botswana and Rwanda - COMBINED! That’s right, COMBINED!
Our problem, as I have said, IS BREEDING LIKE RATS. This year for example the economy will grow at 6.5% BUT the population will expand at about 3%, so the EFFECTIVE growth will be 3.5% - not enough to pull people out of poverty when you throw in corruption and wastage.
Be proud of your country BUT, better, STOP BREEDING LIKE RATS or SUPPORTING CHILDREN OF RELAS THAT BREED LIKE RATS. And tell those dim-eyed orangutans around City Hall to go to work; politicking all day will not add an ounce of ugali to their plates!
If some people spend 1/3 of the time they waste in the sports of complaining and whining then they will add 0.5% more to the economy growth but the best part is that the hardworking people will not be disturbed much as they will add another 5% to the economy. So either get a hobby or give way for others to work peacefully.
Guka na wale watu wanatishwa na tyranny of numbers wafanyeje and it is also a fact that any time a section of population sees the light or embraces modern lifestyles the first impact will be population growth then economic growth follows. Kwa hivyo @Fala 12 cut khocha uwes some slack.
Monaco might have a GDP of $6B but it also has a area of of 500 acres
and a per capita income of $180,000
Jordan has a per capita income of $12,000 and a population of 6 million.
Apples to Oranges.
Tuko mtu 45 million with a per capita of $2800
Look at GINI - measure for inequality - hata Tanzania wako mbele yetu in that sense. And almost every nation mentioned above scores better than us. A small section of Kenya is fabulously wealthy and the rest are wallowing in poverty.
BECAUSE YOU BREED LIKE RATS! WHY DO YOU ALWAYS PRETEND TO BE BRIGHT WHEN YOU ARE REALLY STUPID? IN MY POST, I HAVE VERY CLEARLY SAID THAT THE PROBLEM OF KENYA IS THE RATE OF POPULATION GROWTH WHICH NEGATES ANY GAINS MADE IN THE ECONOMIC FRONT. WHAT ABOUT THAT CAN’T YOU UNDERSTAND?
ABOUT INEQUALITY, UNLESS YOU WANT GAVAMENT TO BE HANDING MONEY TO PEOPLE WHO WANT TO POLITIC EVERY DAY AT CITY HALL, I, A HARD-WORKING PURE BLOOD, WILL ALWAYS BE RICHER THAN THE AVERAGE JARUO. One of the things I like pointing out is a culture of hardwork is what thsi country needs. Look at Kisiis and Somalis - these two relatively minor communities are taking over the economy as others continue politicking about marginalisation and inequality. Why? YOU WON"T FIND THEM AT CITY HALL BUILDING STATE HOUSES IN THE SKY!
Old man you cannot be objective when you keep throwing innuendos and stereotyping communities in your posts, I suppose you have met Luos who are doing well for themselves same as Kisiis or Somalis just to quote from your post. The perception you are trying to drive that wealth belongs or does not belong to a community is so archaic, fatally false and can only be entertained by those who are intellectually challenged which I don’t suppose you are. In my recollection I don’t recall a private citizen who has worked so hard to create wealth literally sharing it with people of his community unless it is a politician in which case we all know the source of such wealth and that is the source of our problems and politicians are not keen to root out the problem. Having said all that, you now realize who should be the object of your anger and derision. Your age as self-professed here dictates that you should be a source of wisdom and not ethnic laced strife.
^^^^well-spoken son. Now go tell those ‘jaruos’ loafing in town to go roll up their sleeves and work! I, in turn, will require all those shiny-eyed drunks in my village who spend the whole day at the local shopping centre waiting for “kanyamu kanini” from strangers to ferk off to their farms.
PS: If you honestly think I am a tribalist you really need to visit me at my office and see who works there, and you talk to them…
You may not be one but you inflame tribal animosity which doesn’t help the young people among us break away from their tribal cocoons. I salute you for employing your staff on merit not withstanding ethnic background.
