A man marrying an older woman not only goes against the norm but also goes against the natural psychological wiring of the genders. Anything that doesn’t align itself or has no importance in regards to evolution which tries to explain the behaviours, choices of the genders referring to the past man, during the hunters and gatherers period is doomed to fail. This could be things like a gender equality marriage, empowering your wife, and now marrying an older wife.
The problem usually boils down mainly to the complex female emotions which is the elephant in the room.
Now an older person is usually expected to lead in any social setting because you know they have more experience. And marrying an older woman subconsciously brings that to the marriage. But in a relationship, a man should lead… if he is to feel acknowledged as a man.
The easiest way of killing a man’s sexual desire is a woman trying to lead him and any other thing which belittles him. That’s why women who are not in love will try to magnify, always complain of the man’s failure even if it’s just a small thing… because they’re trying to belittle him (though beta males will think they need to work harder, improve)
Now a woman who marries a much younger man (over 5 years) marries him because she’s ok with being in control and that’s probably what she sees as one of the pros of such a union and expects.
A man who marries an older woman will initially be ok with that, with his fetish for an older woman making him cloud his judgement.
But as time goes by, his manly instincts will kick in and he will be like, I am the one who needs to be in control. That proposed change in power dynamics won’t go well and it will be the beginning of the end of that union. Actually the union ended when it began and it was just a matter of when it will be finalized.
It’s something which has been there before. Also such a union will cause a lot of depression to both participants for going against the norm and their friends possibly distancing themselves from them; or they having to distance themselves for going against their advice or expectations
