Green Card Fake Marriage Woes... no Luck Here.

A Missouri court on Tuesday, November 17 found Fidelina Mwelu Mutisya guilty for her role in a marriage fraud conspiracy.

The 61-year-old from Winchester, Ohio admitted that she participated in a conspiracy as she wedded a US national with the aim of circumventing federal immigration laws.

The marriage in question happened on Friday, June 22, 2007, as she sought to secure permanent residence in the US.

Her marriage was arranged by Delmar Dixon from Kansas City, Missouri, who was also found guilty and convicted in a separate but related case.

Dixon was sentenced to three years in federal prison without parole back in July 2017.

Mutisya was also found to have paid her spouse Ksh 100,000 for the wedding and subsequently agreed to part with Ksh 10,000 per month until the immigration process was complete.

The elderly woman advised her American spouse to deceive investigators that the marriage was legitimate and not to disclose that she paid him money.

During her stay in the US, Mutisya managed to stay on the right side of the law as the court described her as a lawful resident.

Mutisya faces deportation under federal law, having committed multiple removable offenses, including the offense to which she pleaded guilty.

Her deportation and other immigration consequences, however, will be subject to a separate proceeding.

Two other Kenyans Nellie Mbote, 35, Rogers Onyango Guche 39, are being investigated after their marriages were arranged by Dixon.

One of the oldest type of immigrant ‘crime’ in the West. Doesn’t stop.

A cautionary tale. These Kenyans will be uprooted and deported.

We have many foreigners here who have become citizens through marriage.

How do people get busted doing such shenanigans? Do officials wait till muanzae bad manners ndio waconfirm you’re married ?

ndio nashangaa…

Their fellow immigrants usually snitch on them either out of self preservation (hawataki kuchomewa CV) or plain jealousy.

There are v many ways of getting caught…mainly when someone normally a trustee tells on you…normally the same person that you married reporting you if you don’t up the money, call it blackmail…sometimes the marriage registrars suspect ‘something’ and alert social services who embark on a mission of secretly following you on a daily basis…
V risky way of getting papers. Afathali hata you look for someone you truly love and who loves you…

Hizi marriages huwa zinapigwa analysis during your application. You then go for an in person interview with immigration officials as part of the process. Hapa ndio watu hushikwa as they ask all sorts of questions to test if the marriage is legitimate. In some states, they started interviewing the husband and wife separately. They’re asked similar questions including very specific questions about relationship history and/or house layout and the answers are compared. If the answers are off, they’ll dig in even deeper.

Anything that is done out of order, or illegally has no blessings. I know of some people who went this route but if you examine their lives critically they have not been victorious. Is deportation the worst that can happen to someone or is it a lack of faith? Nani alisema ukideportiwa maisha yako yameisha? It’s not worth it.

Apana. Uko aje lakini?

How does usa deportation work? Ive heard of guys being deported with only the clothes they have on?

When you’re arrested by ICE, say they come knocking on your door and you open for them, they take you out as you are. They don’t give you time to freshen up or wear better clothes or take your phone, money and documents. They seize your residence and deem everything inside it as government property.
