Money they get once employed.
They dont get employed
Wherever they get money to earn a living. A good way to get them is the day they try to buy a car or land. Block them ( title transfer) if they are in default.
HELB privatisation of unis and all these capitalists ideas only work in rich countries. people in poor countries dont have money to pay for anything
There’s nothing for free in this world. If a government is paying, it just means the citizens are paying. Because of rising costs, and citizens inability to pay higher taxes, some of the costs must be passed on to them directly. Now graduates can start paying only if they are gainfully employed or generate a reasonable income. So before you can buy a car or land, your Helb account should be in good order. One can’t justify buying a car ( hence not poor) and his Helb is in default.
If citizens cant pay taxes how will they afford to pay for education? surely 2 trillion in taxes by kenyans is enough to fund tertiary education for 20% of the population. what we have is misaligned priorities and not a money problem. we need a highly educated populace to grow our economy and taxes if we dont invest in education I see us doing very badly in the next 20 years
Government efficiency needs improvement. But the government pays 30-35% loans from that 2T, part of those loans were funding the education. Not really arguing against education, but the fact that it’s not free. One can school but be billed at the end of it.
you are arguing against education. we need an educated populace and most kenyans cant afford the education. if the govt doesnt pay for it then we will continue to have low literacy rates
Education is a priority - there are private institutions for those that can afford them. Public university education should not be privatised, it should be properly funded as a matter of priority. The government does so many unnecessary things - water, food production, health and eduction should be the top priorities. Privatising universities will disadvantage the masses! We need to train people and have them pay back through taxes. What is the government’s work if we are to privatise everything! The leadership is not futuristic at all. Countries like Israel and Switzerland spend almost 5% of GDP on research, and the results are evident.
