Gov Sonko - New 17 Fire Engines to be stationed in each ward.

Inspecting the well equipped new fire fighting-engines that have arrived in Mombasa. They will boost emergency response in the city especially fighting inferno. Each of the 17 sub-county will be allocated a fire engine.

Fire engine bila hydrants ni ineffective. This is a fact. And i have commended the good quality of trucks. I repeat It is a good step in the right direction but fire hydrants zifuate. This goes for all other counties.

I believe the master plan is to build 17 fire stations in city. One for each ward. This 17 fire trucks are just the beginning and an emergency acquisition since we are badly exposed against house fires. The fire stations will also have other fire/rescue trucks, equipments and water storage facilities. Hydrants are a good feature but will need to be constantly supplied with water and have to await NCWSC to upgrade its network.

Enterprise road fire station, there are more than 12 new fire trucks similar to these ones.They were brought in around October last year and the strange thing is they are just parked there, they never move and don’t appear to have ever been commissioned.
What gives or why are they never used?
Anybody know?
