A crash test between a 2019 Nissan NP300 Hardbody manufactured in SA vs 2015 Nissan Navara NP300 manufactured in Europe proves it is safer to have a second hand European/Japanese car than a locally assembled car. Makes you wonder about the brand new cars sold in the Kenyan market such as Isuzu, Volkswagen Vivo, Suzuki Grand Vitara, Mitsubishi Lancer that haven’t been subject to rigorous tests like is in the case in other jurisdictions.
It’s up to African regulators to set the standards they want car manufacturers to meet. Bila hio, mkebe yoyote itakubalika cough…BJ50…cough
Gari ngapi zimekua na accident due to manufatures’ flaws hapa africa yet no one sued the company involved? They know africans cant do sheet, you will accept all substandard goods with questions asked. This is a proper dumping ground

I will say that Japan focuses more on safe roads but Europe focuses more on safe cars. Therefore crash tests of Japan market cars will be poorer as compared to European market for the same model.
