When flood waters stranded eight giraffes on an island in Kenya - putting them in danger of drowning - conservationists had to come up with a novel rescue plan. Their solution? A custom made steel barge to transport the Rothschild’s giraffes four miles to their new home, a sanctuary in the Ruko conservancy. Relentless rains have raised water levels in Lake Boringo, gradually swallowing the peninsula on which the giraffes were living. The Kenya Wildlife Service worked in partnership with the US-based Save Giraffes Now and Kenya’s Northern Rangelands Trust to carry out the operation.

Two giraffes, Asiwa and Easter, have now made the aquatic escape and the organizations are working to save the remaining six. Rothschild’s giraffes are becoming a rare breed, with around 3,000 left in Africa - 800 of which are in Kenya. The wildlife service said the move to Ruko conservancy will also afford the giraffes protection from poachers and predators.
The question I have is why they are called “Rothschild’s giraffes?” Ridiculous! Have we got no pride in ourselves? It’s like if American black bears were called Kamau’s bears. They would never agree to it.
The evil Rothschild Empire runs this world. They own 75% of all wealth on earth, the rest 25% is shared by 7 billion average humans. Banque privée Edmond de Rothschild – Swiss private banking firm , Barclays, Stanchart, Wells Fargo, BoA, and countless other banks are just their kiosks
