I have never heard of it until today. A quick search and I got this. Impressive, a lifelong struggle to achieve this.

Policies. Some of them make or have made the vehicles quite expensive to buy. And the small matter of cost of production.

Judging by this article, the “inventor” is one of those prosperity gospel preaching cult of personality types.

If assembling rebadged Chinese CKDs is the height of achievement then our standards are very low.

What we have here is a fatter pastor version of Mr Vybz Kartel from Ghana with nothing but pure lies. The vehicles are not manufactured in Ghana but merely assembled from knock down kits from China .Infact this is purely badge engineering. This is all Chinese.

i have followed the KATANKA line for quite a while now and its really impressive.

Car is engine,he manufactures them locally and thats what matters. Other components are being sourced abroad and from other dealers worldwide.
Most car makers do that and the end product is labelled as the country of origin. From range rovers to rolls royce but i dont see the writer mentioning that.

We had been on a trip to India recently to a factory that produces a line of trucks for different companies under the same production belt. Only the logo and some small specifications are changed.Outsourcing is the way and you did not expect the side mirrors to brake pads to come from Ghana too.

The importation of those small components had to be done from ALREADY established partners to keep the cost affordable.

Below is the link on how he started a 4wd from scratch though to keep the cost minimal and increase production rate he embarked on importing the small parts.

Assembling a knock down kit is not the same thing as manufacturing a vehicle. Hapo umedanganya.

Pessimistic approach towards everything african-made would be end the of us, that KATANKA story seems new to you and same doubts had been raised and he proven them wrong time and time again. I would take pride even in assembled in african soil .I can live with that.

Just check the link on youtube

The day Africans will believe in their own products is the day that the we get rid of this inferiority complex in us

OK, I now understand. Then there is no difference with what we do in Thika, Nairobi and Mombasa assembly vehicle plants.

Interesting , check below .Truth be told infact Mobius are doing better than this guys since Mobius does most of the work locally and only sources the engine and electrics.Huyo ni Pastor Bandia. With time Mobius will perfect the body work while Kantanka perfect their lies.
The first version of Mobius was Ugly and crude but the new version seems to have addressed that and that’s how one develops.
