I have never bought that lie. For example, Germany was doing well before WW2. It was completely decimated but by 1948, it was leading in Europe in both gdp and gdp per capita. Mind you it was completely destroyed. (It is still leading in Europe in terms of gdp and has a very healthy gdp per capita). Why can’t Libya replicate the same if at all they were prospering?
