Deputy President William Ruto’s running mate and Mathira Member of Parliament, Rigathi Gachagua, has promised that the Kenya Kwanza government will abolish the Persian blue police uniform introduced by President Uhuru Kenyatta in the event they win the August 9 polls.

Speaking at an economic forum in Nyandarua on Saturday, June 11, Gachagua stated that the police did not like the blue uniform, promising to reintroduce the old ones.

He likened the current police uniform to church uniforms and hence the reason for his calls for replacement.

“Even that blue uniform that you do not want will be removed and we will return the old ones. The blue ones will be given back to the PCEA church because it is the uniform that belongs to the Women’s Guild,” he stated.

He alleged that Interior Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang’i, and his Principal Secretary, Karanja Kibicho, were misusing security agencies to campaign for Raila.

He expressed that the Kenya Kwanza administration had the best interest of security officers at heart, promising to carry out reforms if they get elected.
“Kibicho and Matiang’i have misused the police officers. Not a single day have they looked after their welfare. We want to assure you that the Kenya Kwanza will return your dignity as civil servants.”

The Mathira Legislator claimed that the government had intentionally hoarded relief food with the aim of using it to campaign for their opponent and the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party candidate, Raila Odinga.
“We want to tell Chiefs that we have heard they are being intimidated to campaign for Raila to win with the threat of losing their jobs. Don’t worry, we only have 57 days remaining and we will give you back your jobs. We want to guarantee all officers that their jobs are safe…All that food was put in the store and is to be released at a time near the elections to give people so that they can vote for Raila Odinga,” Gachagua alleged.

The Persian blue uniform was introduced in 2018 as part of the reforms the government was undertaking in the security agency.

During the announcement, President Uhuru Kenyatta noted that the changes would improve the service delivery and improve the relationship between the police and Kenyans.
“It’s important for everybody and especially the police officers to know that the Kenyan people are funding these changes so that the police can serve the people better,” he stated.

A political war is playing out among political parties in Kenya Kwanza over fielding candidates in Western.

The battle pits Deputy President William Ruto UDA party against ANC and Ford-K led by Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula.

The UDA Party is rooting for its candidates to be elected despite disquiet among coalition members from the Western region, an area perceived to be Mr Mudavadi and Mr Wetangula’s backyard.

The region is presumed to be the preserve of ANC and Ford Kenya whose leaders are charged with the burden of delivering at least 70 percent of Western votes to Ruto, for them to benefit from the government if they win.

In a video that has gone viral, Mr Mudavadi now wants his backyard to support leaders vying on his party ticket and not those seeking seats under UDA.

He asked residents not to embarrass him by voting in UDA candidates as the area is perceived as his political bastion.
“If you look keenly, do you think Sugoi residents can elect an ANC MP in their backyard despite some of us being in one coalition? Let’s be honest and say the truth much as we are going to form a government… Ruto’s home MP will be from UDA. Don’t embarrass me in this forthcoming general election; just give me an ANC MP in my backyard,” said Mr Mudavadi.

UDA has fielded Mr Clement Siloya for the parliamentary seat in Sabatia, Vihiga County, the home turf of Mr Mudavadi. The ANC leader said that because they had given UDA the two top positions of president and his deputy, Dr Ruto should not interfere in the other seats.

He lamented that Dr Ruto fielding candidates in Vihiga Count is denying him the chance to have an ANC legislator on his own home turf.

“Let us, therefore, respect each other and observe boundaries because these numbers are very crucial in the coming days. We shall not get the 70 percent if we do not have our own governors, senators, MPs, and MCAs,” he added, urging UDA to consider withdrawing Mr Siloya from the race.
Mr Siloya is seeking to replace Mr Alfred Agoi, who succeeded Mr Mudavadi as MP in 2013.

UDA chairman Johnson Muthama told Saturday Nation that the agreement with those parties is based on supporting Dr Ruto’s State House bid but not supporting each other parties’ aspirants.
“Our coalition is based on supporting the presidential candidate, not on supporting each other’s candidates. Those claiming that they are being discriminated against are mistaken,” he said.

Mr Muthama said the parties are free to hold their rallies and even use DP Ruto’s photo on their posters and their leaders should be campaigning for them because UDA will continue supporting its own contenders.

Former Senator Boni Khalwale, who is the UDA senatorial candidate in Kakamega, said Kenya Kwanza is not a coalition party but a pre-election alliance of parties with distinct identities.

Deputy President William Ruto has embarked on a countrywide project to build houses for teachers - and other workers in extension.

Speaking during a rally at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega on Sunday, June 12, the DP directed Kakamega Gubernatorial Aspirant Cleophas Malala to scout for a parcel of land that would accommodate the project in the county.

He promised to build over 10,000 houses in Kakamega County alone with the project expected to be replicated across the country.

According to Ruto, the project will allow middle-class Kenyans to be homeowners after paying a mortgage of Kh8,000 a month for a period of 10 years.

"We have also agreed that home ownership in the republic ownership is no longer going to be a reserve for the few.
We are going to work with homeowner developers so that we can structure competitive local houses.

Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala

“In Kakamega County, we are planning to build houses. Cleophas Malala, you should start planning where we shall build 10,000 low-cost houses so that teachers and those working who need houses can get the houses at cheaper prices so that a person paying Ksh8,000 as rent should begin paying it as a mortgage. They can own the houses 10 years later,” the DP stated.

He further noted that the project will uplift the economy by providing employment for the youth. He estimated that in Kakamega alone, over 40,000 would be hired to help put up the project.
“We shall need 40,000 youth to help us construct the 10,000 houses and provide labor,” he explained.

Teachers are at the center of the ongoing campaigns since the Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga, on June 6, vowed to hire over 300,000 tutors should he ascend to power on August 9.

Odinga promised to increase the Ministry of Education budget by up to Ksh200 billion which will also cater to free education from kindergarten to university level.
“This program will be an aggressive scheme to ensure that all, not some of our children, get rightful access to quality education…We will deploy motivated teachers to deliver quality education to our children so that there is no child left behind. We shall employ all the qualified teachers who are currently unemployed,” stated Raila in his manifesto.

Video Emerges of Another Preacher Mistakenly Praying for Azimio at Ruto Event

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RhcWeg-Zmk

The Kenya Kwanza coalition woes continue to mount after a video surfaced online of another preacher who erred and prayed for Azimio la Umoja at a past event attended by Deputy President William Ruto.

The event took place during the formation of the Kenya Kwanza coalition held in Nairobi on April 12, 2022, and was attended by Kenya Kwanza principals.

The Muslim cleric erred as he was heaping praise on Garissa Township Aden Duale for his leadership tactics - noting that the North Eastern residents would follow the politician to Kenya Kwanza which he referred to as Azimio before quickly correcting himself.

"We must have a free and fair election. We pray that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) leader William Ruto and other partners who have convened here lead us in the right way. May God guide us since the General Election consist of a myriad of problems.
“For the North-Eastern residents, we will follow Duale in every move he makes. We are together in the Azim… what is it called?.. thank you,”
the sheik finished his prayer prematurely amid laughter from Ruto and his co-principals.

The preacher’s slip of the tongue was not reported in April when it happened but has recently started to be shared on social media after another preacher, Reverend Jane Wairimu made a similar mistake in a video that has since gone viral.
Unlike in the April incident where the DP and his team laughed off - they completely ignored the AIPCA preacher’s slip of the tongue in the prayer.
Interestingly, the preacher’s blunder at the launch of the Kenya Kwanza Coalition was shadowed by Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru at the same event who mistakenly referred to Ruto as the Azimio leader.
“Your excellency, the Deputy President and the party leader for UDA and leader of the Azimio group, sorry oh my goodness, the party leader for the Kenya Kwanza alliance, my sincere apologies because I was thinking of what I will say about them,” she stated.
The Ruto-led coalition has been on the spot on numerous occasions after various proponents have had a slip of the tongue, referring to their opponents in past events.

On Friday, June 10, Wairimu, while praying for the Kenya Kwanza Women Charter Conference at the Nyayo national stadium, referred to the coalition as Kenya Kwisha- popularly used as a derisive term by their rivals.

“On this date, we want to come into agreement with the Kenya Kwisha aargh… with the Kenya Kwanza women that every handwriting has been erased,” she stated.

While addressing a rally in Nakuru county on February 11, 2022, FORD-Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula also urged the residents to support the Azimio coalition instead of the Kenya Kwanza alliance.
“We are praying that you support Azimi… our group of the Kenya Kwanza alliance,” Wetangula stated.

Ruto’s fake non-existent Bible verse quotes finally exposed… :D:D:D

Mathew 17: 29 Ruto quoted is non-existent. The book of Mathew 17 ends in verse 27.

Deputy President William Ruto is yet again at the center of controversy after he quoted a Bible verse that is non-existent.

In an interview with NTV on Sunday, the DP quoted a Bible verse to explain how the disciples of Jesus asked Him what
He has for them given that they had left what they were doing to earn a living to follow Him.

“In Mathew 17: 29, when the disciples of Jesus Christ were following Him, they asked Him;
'We have left our families, we have le left our businesses.
We used to be fishermen, we have come to follow you, what is in it for us?” Ruto stated.

The above Bible verse the DP quoted is non-existent. The book of Mathew 17 ends in verse 27.

The Bible message the DP quoted was from Mathew 19: 27 which says:

"Peter answered him, “We have left everything to follow you. What then will be there be for Us”.

The mishap has degenerated into a war of words on social media with his opponents hitting out at him.

The DP, who has fashioned himself as a God-fearing man, was disparaged by a section of Kenyans including leaders allied to the Azimio coalition.

While reacting to the Video of the DP quoting the verse, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu said:
“Mathew Chapter 17 ends at verse 27. Praise the Lord”.

Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu on her part posed:
“Mathew 17:29? Which verse is that boss? It doesn’t exist. Or we are using a different Bible?”

There was an ugly clash between Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi and former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo on Wednesday, June 15 during a rally organized by Rigathi Gachagua.

The aftermath of the dramatic confrontation saw a campaign vehicle affiliated with the former Kiambu Governor ram into that carrying Wamatangi.

A video seen by Kenyans.co.ke showed witnesses claiming that Kabogo was in the vehicle that hit Wamatangi’s car - but we could not verify the claim.

Minutes earlier, the two candidates had a public showdown during Gachagua’s tour in Limuru.

Kimani Wamatangi’s car damaged at a rally in Limuru.

In the exchange that nearly turned physical, Wamatangi, who shared the same vehicle with UDA Presidential running mate, accused Kabogo of threatening him insisting that he would not be intimidated.

Kabogo was seen throwing physical gestures at his Kenya Kwanza colleagues with their speeches overlapping as they each had a different microphone.
“I will no longer buy fear from you Kabogo, you spoke here and I did not interrupt you, my focus is on developing Kiambu and do not dare me. Look elsewhere if you want to sell fear - who told you this county belongs to you? Shut up and get out of here!” Wamatangi lamented.

“Talk about your issues or get out of here,” Kabogo retorted as he threw hand gestures at his colleague atop his vehicle.

This is, however, not the first time there has been fallout within the Kenya Kwanza Coalition. On Sunday, June 12,

The Service Party (TSP) leader Mwangi Kiunjuri claimed that Deputy President William Ruto had withheld some crucial information regarding the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) submitted by Kenya Kwanza to the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP).

Kiunjuri argued that TSP was not aware of Mount Kenya’s stake in Ruto’s government despite signing a memorandum when joining the coalition.

In a separate instance, Mosop Member of Parliament Vincent Tuwei leaked the contact of the DP after a bitter fallout after accusing the party of rigging him out.

He further called the DP an oppressor after ignoring Ruto’s calls noting that ‘I will not bow down to pressure into stepping down for those who rigged me out.’

Cracks within Kenya Kwanza continue to widen after two co-principals demanded that the Deputy President William Ruto-led faction shares with them a copy of the agreement establishing the alliance.

The Service Party (TSP) leader Mwangi Kiunjuri and his Farmers Party counterpart, Irungu Nyakera, now allege that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has not supplied them with crucial details of the deal.

On Friday, June 17, the Standard reported that TSP is accusing Ruto of withholding particulars of the coalition agreement that was deposited with the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP).

https://www.kenyans.co.ke/files/styles/article_inner_mobile/public/images/media/TSP%20leader%20Mwangi%20Kiunjuri%20during%20a%20Kenya%20Kwanza%20campaign%20in%20Tharaka%20on%20June%2010%2C%202022..jpg?itok=rsLu0Av-
TSP leader Mwangi Kiunjuri during a Kenya Kwanza campaign in Tharaka on June 10, 2022.

Similar claims were raised by Nyakera who indicated that anytime they ask for components of the coalition agreement, they are told not to worry since they will be in the next government.

Nyakera stated that his party is demanding the details and specifics of what the Mount Kenya region stands to gain if they overwhelmingly vote for Ruto. He added that they want the finer details in the paper to include sectors such as education.

This comes amid a statement by UDA Secretary for Legal Affairs, Edward Muriu, that the party had not signed any power-sharing arrangement with other parties outside Amani National Congress (ANC) and Ford Kenya.

“We don’t have a coalition agreement with Kabogo (William) and all the other parties. What we have is a cooperation agreement, which is more or less a post-election pact. We only have a coalition agreement with ANC and Ford Kenya,” Muriu stated.

This comes even as Kabogo accused Kenya Kwanza’s presidential running mate, Rigathi Gachagua, of being a bully in the political coalition.

Speaking on Thursday, June 16, Kabogo accused Gachagua of orchestrating the woes in the Kenya Kwanza alliance and especially in Kiambu county.

The former Kiambu governor accused Gachagua of intimidation and fronting UDA candidate, Kimani Wamatangi, during engagements in the county.

Kabogo argued that the sibling rivalry in Mount Kenya stems from the region’s kingship position.

The Tujibebe Party leader explained that he is the de facto Mount Kenya leader which Mathira Member of Parliament has been opposed to.

Mount Kenya region is currently experiencing a political leadership vacuum and leaders who refused to join UDA stated that this was a reason for concern since President Uhuru Kenyatta is headed for retirement.
