Why is kerosene going up?
There was a government policy sometimes back on making sure that kerosene price should be higher than diesel or petrol in order to eliminate adulteration. In the past when kerosene was cheaper, some unscrupulous dealers used to mix it with either diesel or petrol and then sell to motorists. This used to destroy many vehicles engines.
