Kuna hii kashida nimeona kwa gari mingi. I always thought its for very old vehicles. Fuel gauge (indicator kwa dash ni ile ya arm and dial. yaani kama analogue clock) on a car i drive (toyoda) Was working perfectly all along. nikiweka full tank naona ni full tank kwa dash. nikiweka elfu mbili naona ni kiasi kama hiyo. nikibakisha kaunit kamoja iwashe taa najua bado niko na mafuta.
lakini of late inabidi nikiweka mafuta kama afternoon ivi gauge itapanda usiku nitaona asubuhi. nikidrive kidogo gauge inaanguka nashangaa gari inakunywa aje . Only to park come back later find the gauge up. Sometimes naweka mafuta naenda safari inanionyesha gari haikunywi mafuta alafu kupark nikirudi baadaye gauge inaanguka mara moja hadi huko chini. nikienda kiasi inapanda kidogo. SHIT! I no longer know where the truth lies. so ikifika nusu na ninaenda safari najaza. saa ingine inakuwa stuck na niko kwa safari usiku. its two hours driving na gauge haisongi inabiditu nimeingia petrol station naongeza kiasi. Even then the gauge can do anything. inaeza panda kiasi, juu kabisa, ama isisonge. Hii shida ilianza vile nili-domesticate total fuel sijui ni coincidence ama kuna kitu. Hii shida inatatuliwa aje?
mabirrionea hawawesrelate wanakuja :

:D:D:D you just made my day.
hehe…wacha wakuje.
Weka ile solvent ya kusafisha fuel system.
Sawa i will try this one too. You have info that it works?
Jaribu.Kama shida ni waxy deposits pale kwa fuel pump contacts itasaidia.
Nitajaribu chief.
replace the sending unit located in the fuel tank
halafu pia parking the car in a slanting position hua inaleta hii shida
:D:D:D:D
@introvert , njoo uone zile solution zinapeanwa hapa:D
Ati solvent, parking car …:D:D
If your fuel gauge is taking too much time to adjust it could only indicate to two issues.
- There is a short on the wire
- The fuel sender unit has a problem
To fix the first is easy peasy, just identify the short ( or could even be the grounding is not right )
To fix the second, there are two options, if it’s an analog sender check the voltage on the sender’s + line, for digital you will need to check the resistance (ohm meter ) this should range between 0-158 ohms depending on vehicle model
When doing this (testing the sender ) don’t ground to the body, the sender has it’s own ground pin (check your cars workshop manual )
If the readings voltage or ohms are whack, remove the sender and check that the potentiometer is working ok. You might want to clean it. If it’s not replace the sending unit
Hope this helps
You took the words right out of my mouth.
I was about to comment on the sensitivity of the resistor on the sending unit.
I don’t trust my fuel gauge nowadays. I listen to the buzz of the fuel pump.
I know parking position/climbing an hill/ or going downhill affects the reading kiasi. Even so the car is usually parked horizontal on a building floor.
Fuel strainer uko na shida… Enda pale Unifilters busia rd waeleze shida yako in 15mins u will be sorted.
Thank me later
You mean fuel strainer ndo ina shida?
Yako ni better yangu nikiweka lazima nigonge speed ya mia moja ndo kainuke usipo unadhani attendant wa petrol station aliweka hewa
That’s why sisi hutumia kijiti kupima dithro kwA matangi
This is all resistance. Nothing else. The sending unit is in the tank and it has its factory default setting.
Some cars are built like that.
My neighbour’s Toyota ist rukas to maximum when the dashboard lights come up.
My fozzy lazima utembee kiasi (maybe a km) ndio results zitoke.
See what amun and intro have said.
