Fuack Kentex Cargo

Weh @Kentex Cargo, kuja hapa!
Who in this village has brought in stuff using these guys? I need some help with figuring out their charges.

I ordered some stuff from the states amounting to $177.43. So today i get an email from them saying my stuff has landed and is ready for collection from their westlands offices. But they say i need to pay $160 for shipping!
$160??! Its not like i was bringing in weights or other heavy stuff. Altogether this stuff cannot weigh more than 5kg…and while they do factor in volume of the goods when it comes to shipping, there is no way my stuff will occupy the kind of space that kind of cost. Its like shipping stuff using UPS or DHL.

What were guys charges bring in stuff using these people?

They are cunts yeah. Bought a watch and some slippers and had to part with 3kg charges. Was pissed but not that much.

Izeni, I shipped something with them wakati bado walikuwa pale corner house and charges were not that bad, inakaa wameanza umeffi

This is how you kill a business. You start trying to shaft guys and soon word starts going round of your shady business tactics and before you know it, no-one uses your services anymore.

DHL

This is the problem they are DHL brokers.

Ala. I thought you agree on charges before shipping o_O

I have shipped with them twice, first time haikuwa na shida but the second time waliongeza 2 pounds to each of the items I was shipping, they were 3 items each weighing 6 lb, so I had to pay 54 extra dollars

…and i was thinking of trying their services…

Was about to ask the same. @nairobilay wapi ile quote walikupa? Ama ulisema tu wakuletee ukadhani unaitisha brother yako?:D:D:D

I bought stuff through them last year and I wasn’t asked for any additional money apart from what they wrote on the invoice.

Got delivered to Naivasha at no extra cost.

Well you basically agree in principle…they tell you about how they charge and all. But you dont know your shipping charges until they send you an invoice when they have shipped the goods because they claim they can only know how much to charge you when they physically have the item.

Personally, I sent them the link, they gave me a quote, I paid via MPESA, they gave me an invoice and told me to wait for about 14 days, on the 13th day they called and told me my stuff was ready. i didn’t pay an extra coin.

The initial invoice was just for the items alone. Including tax…and since the items were over $100 the company doesnt charge for shipping within the US. Kentex did not quote for shipping to Kenya. But even then, what they are quoting is just crazy

I think you paid in part which one clears upon going to pick them up.

The total cost of the items was $177 which is what i paid. This is what i would have paid regardless of whatever method of shipping i chose.
I have not paid shipping cost…my contention is that you cannot pay almost the same price for shipping.

@The_Virus and @old monk how did you not pay extra when they say this on the invoice “shipping cost will be billed at $8.99/pound once items are received at our USA address, weight and volume measured. We’ll notify you via email. Our minimum charge is $20”
you didnt even pay that $20?

When they tell you they can ship through DHL which is more expensive that how they do it on your request if it’s urgent that shows they’re no DHL brokers.

Nope although I shipped in last year maybe they have changed their terms. let @Kentex Cargo expound

Yes I paid that $20 since the items were about $49 and the total came to $61 due to taxes and such.

I didn’t receive any other email maybe because the items lightweight(pens).

After going through their site and FB I realized there were numerous complaints of inflated shipping costs. So I stayed away and chose another courier company. Haven’t received my item but nangoja I’ll write a review.

Which other company?
