The alarm is set… incidentally I have not watched an eclipse for the last 10 or so years , something always crops up and messes my plans. I’ve set the alarm for 5.45 am, I am not sure I will wake up… but a man can try

How insightful of you! My calculations show that from where I am and at 3:10 am when the eclipse begins, the moon will be too low in the West for me to actually see it! It should be noted that the moon travels across the sky faster than the Sun!!! Judging from it’s position in the sky at the moment, then it’s safe to assume that it will be almost setting at 4 am!

The moon was out and shining brightly in all its majesty by the time I retired to bed at around 11pm.
I have just woken up, remembered this post and rushed outside.

I have to wait for 2033 if I will still be around.

Timed my alarm to 3:15 and it was punctual! Coming out I saw it was dark and I thought, ‘Damn! I’m late!’, only to realize it was dark because of the overcast!
