Ni brother ya late Ken Osinde?
Yeah. … That’s his brother
A former Treasury official Tom Fred Mokaya Osinde is missing.
His family is appealing for help to find him. He went missing on June 17 while travelling from his Nakuru home to Kisii, the family said.
His nephew Emanuel wrote on Twitter: "My uncle Tom Mokaya Osinde is missing. His car registration number KBZ 900R, a black Land Cruiser, was found vandalized in Kilgoris. Family is appealing to anyone with information on his whereabouts to call 0723765267 or report to the nearest police station.”
According to police, his car registration number KBZ 900R, a black V8, was found abandoned and vandalized around Sikawa, Kilgoris, Narok County.
This was far away from both his Nakuru and Kisii homes. The number plates, battery and radio were missing from the car.
Osinde is the brother of Ken Osinde, the former Chief of Staff in President William Ruto’s office when he was the deputy president.
The late Osinde also served as Kenyan ambassador to Germany between 2010 and 2014. Police say they do not know his whereabouts.
Transmara West Sub County police commander Jamlek Ngaruiya said the car was found abandoned on the roadside on June 22 which was almost five days after he went missing.
He said the public in the area informed the police the car was abandoned on the roadside.
“His family has identified the car and confirmed it belongs to the missing Fredrick Tom Osinde who stays in Ngata, Nakuru,” he said.
He added a missing person report was made to police. The family said they last spoke to him on, June 23 when he left home aboard the car.
The family asked for help, urging the public or anyone privy to his whereabouts to contact them or file a report at the nearest police station.
They have recorded statements with the police.
“The most important thing is to help bring him back alive. As of now, everyone is putting efforts to ensure that our kin is back safe and sound,” a family member told the media.
The missing Osinde attended the University of Nairobi, where he studied economics. After graduating, he worked for the Treasury Department for several years.
He was known for his expertise in financial management and he retired from Treasury in 2010 to start his own business.
