form One Enrollment and the pain of being a Kenyan

At the end of every year, Education ministry announces the KCPE results, to the eagerly and excited Kenyan public.
Towards the end of the announcement, comes the line which is both painful and shameful.
Am not a proud Kenyan, when figures of those to miss a chance of joining Secondary schools.
This Crap have been on for more than 20 yrs, I guess we as are racing to the bottom.
For those of u mko Ocha, any signs of new secondary been built, hata watu wa Mayakos County, Maendeleo chap chap vipi, amejenga Shule ama ni domo tu ?

ni dorm na extra classes zimejengwa pekee… no new schools

Sadness of life, Wale watakosa nafasi hapa Mombasa watajoin hizi vikundi za wahuni going by the name wakali wao na wakali kwanza or God forbid Alshabaab.

from where I leave the ward has three new secondary schools built and it’s not the first ward I know of…yes more need to be built but we as Kenyans can do so much as we can. A whole school can hold what? 400 students? do the math… how can million plus be put in school in our economy?

That’s a very small fraction, existing public high schools are overstretched. It’s a big hustle for parents trying to secure form 1 admission.
We have to agree, no one is building public schools anymore.

That’s impressive, huko ni county ngani

Kweli lakeview ward NVS sjaona any new public school.

like in kasarani I don’t leave there but I know new secondary schools where built… but it’s lack of priority in leadership of course…but when the private sector tries its choked to its knees like with the policy of advantage the public schools over the private ones( what a Damn idea).

Not everyone is capable of further studies. Like i have a nephew who scored 136/500 but was pushed to secondary school where he scores straight Es. on the other hand. the kid is gifted in drawing and can literally draw anything. Polytechnics exist to absorb such. Focus should thus be on such institutions.

Reminds me of my brother. Hata KCPE alikataa kufanya. All he wanted was a boda boda. He now owns 3 more boda bodas , taxi ,own house and a retail shop.
