I did set a password at the HDD level. I forgot the password but the data on the drive is crucial. My guess is this is not possible. However, I know you Spiceheads will come up with something to try!
The best solution is: try to remember your password. Otherwise you should accept to lose everything in your hdd

did you encrypt the drive using something like bitlocker or just locked it using a password on the bios if its the latter then be ready to shell out some real dough encryption is hard to crack and if its the latter then u will part with some dough

Remember the drive is locked.
