So today I’ve come accross this photo and I remembered back in '01 some teenager committed suicide over being denied permission to attend Shaggy’s concert by her wazazis. https://mg.co.za/article/2001-01-03-teen-commits-suicide-over-missed-show
It is very difficult to understand how someone, teenager or not, can have such serious lapse in judgement.
As in, what thought process was involved here? What did she really think she was going to gain from the concert, for it to determine whether she would live or die?
Kama kuna mtu wa psychology hapa ebu explain, because some shit just goes against the sense of reason.
I never make fun of the dead, but folks who end their lives under foolish circumstances should come under scrutiny.
It really is sad, considering that she would still be alive today, but then again she would have probably found some other foolish reason to end her life. Anyhu, life goes on. Let us be prudent in our ways.
This has everything to do with a rebellious soul, trying to purnish the parent for denying her having her way. Only that the punishment is a stupid move.
Suicide is part of evolution/natural selection, to remove stupidity traits in humans
If she would have survived that she would probably be thinking about how stupid she was.
Damn
As @kush yule mnono said, it is mostly driven by rebellion and defiance. In his mind, suicide equals punishing the parents. In some cases, the kid would have even killed the parents.

There are some things you just need to sit, knock back a few pints, smile and watch it unfold

I just came to say this. This is pure evolution, nature has it’s way of making the gene pool more smarter, efficient and innovative.
The greatest proof being the ever changing face of the world, today’s generation is arguably more smarter than the generation that was 200 years back. Look around you.
