I came across this chinese recipe for honey chilli chicken which can be tasty for the holidays
I twitched it a bit instead of deep frying …shallow fried and put in some yellow sweet hohos
Cooked it for longer since it was kienyeji .You can try this at home if making it for the kids,one can skip the chilli sauce :p:p

[li]1 1⁄2kg chicken fillets[/li][li]flour[/li][li]salt[/li][li]oil (for deep frying) shallow fried [/li]
[li]1teaspoon grated ginger[/li][li]2tablespoons honey[/li][li]2teaspoons cornflour[/li][li]1⁄3cup water[/li][li]1tablespoon sweet chili sauce[/li][li]1⁄3cup lemon juice[/li][li]2teaspoons soy sauce[/li][li]6shallots(kitunguu ya mti)[/li][/ul]

[li]Dice chicken and coat lightly with flour which has been seasoned with salt.[/li][li]Fry chicken in batches in hot oil until golden brown or until chicken is cooked through.[/li][li]Remove from oil, drain on paper towels.[/li][li]Repeat with remaining chicken.[/li][li]Pour off excess oil leaving one tablespoon of oil in pan.[/li][li]Add ginger to pan, saute gently one minute.[/li][li]Add honey, stir for one minute.[/li][li]Add combined cornflour, water, chilli sauce, lemon juice and soy sauce.[/li][li]Stir until sauce boils and thickens.[/li][li]Add chicken pieces, toss in sauce for three minutes or until chicken is heated through.[/li][li]Add sliced shallots, cook for a further minute.[/li][li]Serve with rice or chinese noodles.[/li][/ul]
