Kidnapping and robbery bid foiled

Members of the public in Mombasa foiled a kidnapping and robbery attempt involving a woman who had made huge cash withdrawals from a local bank.
Drama started when the woman, while walking out of the bank was grabbed by a man and two female accomplices and forced into a waiting salon car.
The gang posing as police officers in civilian clothes; waylaid the woman as she stepped out of the bank, and headed to where she had parked her Toyota Land Cruiser.
They forced the woman to enter a Toyota Fielder vehicle which they used as a gateway car and speed off in the wrong direction of the busy Moi avenue road triggering pandemonium among motorists.
According to eyewitnesses, the kidnappers were stopped on their tracks, when they rammed into an oncoming Tuk tuk (three wheeler taxi).
Members of the public rushed to the scene and freed the kidnapped woman who was shouting; ‘Thieves! Thieves!’
The civilians then apprehended two of the suspects who were saved in the nick of time by policemen as angry members of the public were baying for their blood. Police identified the suspects as Daniel Kamau, Teresia Wambui and Nancy Wanjiru.
Mombasa police commander Johnstone Ipara said the suspects will be taken to court on Monday; adding, they will be charged with robbery with violence, causing an accident, failing to stop after an accident and driving on the wrong side of the road.
The police boss who addressed the press at the county police headquarters said further investigation is underway and urged previous victims of such criminal acts to attend an identification parade.
Ipara appealed to members of the public to be on the lookout for criminals and avail to the law enforcement agencies information on any suspicious activities.

The said victim had not even gone to withdraw cash…she had gone to get change. 40K changed into 50 bob notes…okay, that’s the version the ‘mboys’ in blue gave.

All that time nilikuwa backseat nimekanyangwa na kufunikwa kwa blanket. ATM activity history ndio ilinionyesha walitolea pesa Githu. Walinipea fare, wakanirudishia laptop na simu.
they work in cahoots, with the bank tellers when you with draw a “good amount” unapeanwa, the best thing is to change clothes once you are done with the teller my old lady used to change clothes either kwa loo if the bank has one or kwa lift just a jacket will do, hii kenya its everyone for him/herself, lakini pia wezi ni wajinga 40k ni pesa ya kuiba mkiwa watatu? ukiongeza teller ni kila mtu 10k, risking your freedom na life juu you can rob a licensed civilian ju ya 10k
